Snowmass Don Julio's Prestige

PrestigeD.O.B. 6-22-97,    Reg. #800325    Color: White, but throws strong colored cria.

Prestige is the grand dam of our herd. She has consistently put top quality babies on the ground effortlessly. She is a fabulous protective mother whose crias have high IgGs and superlative weight gain. She is a gem because except when bred to another white, has thrown deep color, including dark brown and ROSE GREY!

Her sire is the renowned Don Julio from the first Peruvian import. He was proclaimed at his first show in Estes Park CO in 1994 as the closest thing to the perfect alpaca. He put his stamp on many fine offspring.

Prestige has a nice head with excellent depth of jaw and maintains a perfect bite at 10 years of age. She has heavy bone that she passes along to her offspring. Her fiber is extremely dense and still shows nice character at age 10. Her offspring have all had good crimp, extreme density and excellent brightness.

When paired with our Cloud 9 Comet, she produced great offspring. Unfortunately Comet died in 2006, which was a real loss to our breeding program. She and Comet created rose grey Premier's Absolute, who is known nationally as one of the premier grey males and who Julie Skinner of Snowmass Alpacas praised. Their 2006 son, the end of Comet's line, is named Tribute to Comet. He is a quality fellow who took a blue at his only show spring 2007. He is dark brown except for his black points and SILVER TIPPED ears.

Prestige has a beautiful fawn female cria at her side, born 8-16-07, who is not named yet. The buyer may purchase Prestige alone and take her after the cria is weaned, or purchase the female cria with her for an additional $5K. The cria is out of Alpha Romeo of Genesis whose fiber stats are unbelievable, attributed to his pacovicuna dam. At a recent herdsire auction, there was a bidding war for Romeo's stud service.

Prestige is confirmed bred to Cimarron Gold Legend, an outstanding male owned by Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company who has take multiple championship awards. This cria should be awesome.

We put Prestige to work soon after purchasing her, and only showed her fiber a few times. It ribbonned each time and took Spinner's Choice over all entries at the 2000 Alpacapalooza Fleece show.

Satin Sophisticate of Genesis

SophieD.O.B. 5-23-03,    Reg. #1000955    Color: Solid dark rose grey

Sophie is one of the rare SOLID DARK ROSE GREY, full Peruvian alpacas. She is beautiful and the judges have agreed. Her pedigree shows Pperuvian Guellermo and 4Peruvian Legacy as grandsires.

Sophie is a very solid female. Her conformation is excellent and her bone is medium/heavy. She has extremely dense fiber that has lovely crimp. She gives birth easily and has plenty of milk. If we didn't have to downsize our herd dramatically because of Leslee's upcoming knee replacement surgery, Sophie would stay in our foundation herd.

Sophie is so special that we sent her half way across the country to be bred to The Reverend Mr. Black in CO for her first cria. RMB is one of the best black studs in the U.S. The resulting true black female who we named Premier's Adriana (meaning dark beauty) is one of the nicest crias we have had. When they saw her at two weeks of age, our friends from Janus Alpacas, extremely discriminating breeders, asked for first right of refusal on the cria should we ever sell her. What a compliment!

Sophie had her 2008 cria on February 26 - another stunning black FEMALE! She is very vigorous and has black popcorn fiber.  With Rubio's phenomenal fiber, this babe should be a winner.

Sophie has taken high awards in the show ring in both full fleece and shorn classes, including at the national level. Her fiber has also done very well in fleece competitions. Both Sophie and her fiber have earned championship placings.

Peppermint Patty

Peppermint PattyD.O.B. 6-17-99,    Reg. #815852,    Color: Medium silver grey

Peppermint Patty is a beautiful female. She is low key and regal and is easy to handle. She is a protective, excellent mother with plenty of milk. Patty has great conformation. Her bone is heavy, her head is stunning, her topline is level, her legs are straight and her bite is perfect - you couldn't ask for much more. Her fiber is very dense, has excellent staple length and good crimp for her age.

We bought Patty in 2006 and planned to keep her in our foundation herd. But, with an upcoming knee replacement for Leslee, we have acknowledged that we must reduce our herd size significantly. Patty needs a new home.

Patty has thrown only grey and black when bred to grey or black. Her 2006 silver daughter out of our rose grey Rubio was very pretty, the reason we offered to purchase her and the cria from the former owner. Of course, we re-bred Patty to Rubio right away. This year we got a nice dark silver grey male from the pair. The cria has heavy bone and very straight conformation, and is being sold at Patty's side.

Patty is being sold bred to Onyx's Grey Navigator, a very handsome dark silver Aussie Rockford son, who sweeps the ribbons in every show in which he exhibits. This special stud is owned by Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company, a farm known for its exemplary males. Navigator is extremely typey and has beautiful fine fiber.

We offer a complimentary breeding with every female sold, so the buyer could take her back to Rubio in 2008 if desired. The other Premier option would be Icon, who is a Legacy grandson and whose mom is a full sister to rose grey champion Premier's Absolute. Icon's first cria was a rose grey out of a silver dam. Icon is registered as light brown, but is morphing into rose, so his grey genetics are coming through. His fiber stats are excellent. Learn more about Icon by going to our herdsire listings on this site.

Peppermint Patty:   SOLD to Mervin and Mary Jo Monteith  Includes male DSG cria at her side.

* * Premier’s Jolie

JolieD.O.B. 7-15-99,    Reg. #816587,    Color: Light brown & white

Jolie is a full sister to rose grey national champion Premier's Absolute, her dam being Snowmass Don Julio's Prestige and sire Cloud 9 Comet. She has been a solid anchor in our breeding program, producing well for us.

Jolie has never disappointed us, having easy births and lots of milk for her healthy crias. When bred to Snowmass Black Legend she produced Premier's Rubio who has luscious rose grey fiber, a throw back to her sire Cloud 9 Comet. Bred to Snowmass Midnight Magic, she threw a gorgeous medium brown female with black points that we named Premier's Midnight Ember. Bred to our medium brown Legacy son, Premier's Maximillian, Jolie produced Premier's Icon, so named because of his attributes of straight conformation with fine, silky fiber, everything we are striving for in our breeding program. Icon's fiber has changed from light brown to rose grey on his neck and the color change is migrating to his blanket.

Jolie is being sold to Premier's Maximillian for a mid-October cria.  Her 2007 male cria has been sold.

Jolie showed well until we put her to work by breeding her in 2001. She took first in classes in both full fleece and composite halter competitions. In fleece shows her fiber consistently got high marks for fineness and handle, staple length and uniformity of micron. Her first clip received Spinner's Choice at Alpacapalooza. Jolie's first two histograms: MC  18.6, SD 4.0,  CV 21.5, CF 98.3;  and MC 20.7, SD 3.8, CV 18.4,  CF 97.8.

Jolie has good conformation. Her bite remains perfect and has never been altered. She has good depth of jaw and straight legs. She is a smart alpaca - you can almost see her thinking.

 Premier’s Prestigious Paradigm

ParadigmD.O.B. 8-12-05,    Reg. #1242102    Color: Medium fawn with a grey muzzle.

Paradigm is a full sister to Premier's Absolute. Every time we bred her dam and sire together we got an outstanding offspring so decided to name the 2005 cria Paradigm, which means model or good example. Paradigm's mom is our absolute best full Peruvian girl - Snowmass Don Julio's Prestige. Her sire is rose grey Cloud 9 Comet, who died from an intestinal blockage when Paradigm was a baby. What a loss to our breeding program that was!

Paradigm's grey heritage is shown by her grey muzzle, so she just might throw grey. When we saw Snowmass Cimarron Gold Legend, we couldn't resist putting these two nice fawns together. Paradigm has been ultrasounded pregnant to a July 2007 breeding.

Paradigm has solid conformation and extremely dense fiber. If she follows in her mom's footsteps, she will have easy births with lots of milk.

Premier’s Sassoon de Vidal

SassonD.O.B. 9-9-05,    Reg. #1242072    Color: Medium brown with black points.

Sassoon de Vidal goes by the name Sassy on the farm, but that name by no means reflects her sweet.personality. Her sire is Premier's Vidal, champion macho who carries bloodlines from two of Pacific Crest's finest studs - Pperuvian Camilio and PCA Peruvian Microsoft. Sassy's dam is Premier's A-Lexus who is a Caligula daughter.

Sassy is a fiber machine. She has a very long staple length and is very dense. We bred her to Premier's Rubio, who has some of the nicest grey fiber in the industry. The cria was born August 28, and is a beautiful brown female. She has the softest, silkiest fleece we have seen on a cria. Sassy is being sold with this cria at her side and bred back to Premier's Nevado.

Nevado is our absolute best fiber producer. At 8 months he sheared 6 pounds of stunning fiber which took 7, yes 7!! ribbons in only two fleece shows. The offspring from him and Sassy should have phenomenal fleece production. Nevado's parents are both champions.

Sassy is a solid, healthy girl who was settled in one breeding as a maiden and the birth of her first daughter recently was effortless. She has plenty of milk and is maintaining her body condition as she grows the cria.

Premier’s Joliet

JolietD.O.B. 7-26-05,    Reg. #1242126,    Color: Light brown & white

Joliet has a great half Peruvian pedigree. Her dam is a full sister to Premier's Absolute and her sire is Victor's Julius, son of the acclaimed Pperuvian Victor, now deceased.

We named her Joliet because she is a virtual clone of her mother, Premier's Jolie. Both Jolie and Joliet are light brown with a white vicuna type underbelly, neck that is a blending of white and light brown (those rose grey genes showing) and brown heads with white markings. Jolie threw rose grey Premier's Rubio out of a black sire, so we bred Joliet to PRA Blackstone. Blackstone is beautifully structured and has commanding presence. He has excellent coverage with super dense true black fiber.

Joliet is a healthy girl who took on one breeding as a maiden. Her pregnancy was uneventful, and the cria was born 9-20-07. The cria is female and a lovely color which varies from charcoal brown ( and may be dark rose grey!) on her head and lower legs and shades of lighter brown in between. She looks like a piece of fine chocolate candy, so that may help us pick a suitable name for her.

Joliet is being sold with her female cria at her side.  In addition, we will breed Joliet back to Duncan of Stirling Ridge because we love one baby we have out of him. The cria is very typey, with excellent proportions and fiber that lays in locks from his chin to his knees. Duncan is a handsome medium fawn fellow with a compact body type.

Joliet's fiber is dense and shiny, with nice crimp and is very soft. She has good conformation and a gentle demeanor.

Gateway's Trinity

TrinityD.O.B. 7-2-00,    Reg. #824595,    Color: White

We bought Trinity and a couple of herd mates from a very small breeder who was moving on. They had bred her at our farm twice, so we knew she was reproductively sound. Unfortunately they did not have the financial capability to breed her every year, so her list of progeny is short. Trinity is a healthy girl who should be a solid addition to any breeding program.

Trinity is 3/4 Peruvian, having Peruvian Oro and Park Avenue on her sire's side. Her dam is dark fawn and even though white, Trinity has shown her color throwing capability in her first two offspring, medium fawn Honey, and medium brown Sirocco, both out of a beige sire. Both offspring have extremely dense fiber and heads with excellent depth of jaw.

Trinity's first and second histograms: MC 20.0, SD 4.3, CV 21.5, CF 97.3; MC 21.8, SD 3.9, CV 18.1, CF 97.6.

Trinity had her Premier's Vidal cria, a solid dark brown male, June 3, 2007. Vidal is a striking macho with heavy bone and a magnificent head. He is the son of Pacific Crest's Camilio and has many awards to his credit including color championship in halter and spinner's choice in fleece. His fiber is amazingly consistent, the most important attribute breeders should strive for, with crimp from his chin to his knees. Please see Vidal's listing on this site for additional information.

We have bred Trinity back to Premier's Maximillian. True to form, she took with one breeding and has been confirmed pregnant by ultrasound. Max is the son of the revered 4P Legacy and has many awards to his credit. He throws cria with popcorn style to their fiber and has consistently passed on his silky handle. Max's proportions and conformation are elegant. You may see his offspring under his listings on this site.

If the buyer would like a very compatible male, we are recommending Premier's Sebastian who was the sire of Trinity's first two crias.  See those two offspring along with her 2007 son here.   Trinity's offspring

Trinity:  SOLD to Mervin and Mary Jo Monteith.Includes male cria.

CW Sombra

SombraD.O.B. 7-22-04,    Reg. #1209921,    Color: Maroon with black points.

Sombra caught our eye when she placed first in her class at Alpacapalooza 2005 as a juvenile. She was bay black at that time, but has made a transformation into everyone's favorite color - the maroon from the old color chart. Her sire is a silver who has maintained fineness as he has aged, both a plus in our book.

Sombra took on her very first breeding and produced a nice female out of Premier's Absolute. The birth was effortless as the baby was sitting beside Sombra one fall morning. The cria benefited from Sombra's heavy milk supply by gaining more than half a pound a day.

Sombra is confirmed pregnant to Snowmass Cimarron Gold Legend for a spring 2008 cria. Gold Legend is 7/8 Peruvian and has taken a multitude of championship ribbons both in halter and fleece. His pedigree is 100% Snowmass bloodlines. Both Accoyo Pluro and Hemingway are included in his pedigree. Gold Legend has fiber to die for. He is typey and carries himself with commanding presence. Gold Legend is owned by Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company who lists him on their AlpacaNation website. Please visit that site for more photos and details on this special male.

Sombra has straight conformation and a perfect bite. She is smart and easy to handle, and has excellent mothering capability. Sombra's fiber is dense, bright, and has nice crimp.

 Premier's Silver Nuance

Silver NuanceD.O.B. 9-19-06    Reg. #30708495,    Color: Dark Silver grey and true black.

This little gal is a genetic treasure. On her dam's side her lineage shows some of Patagonia's finest males - Shackleton (now deceased), Caballero Andante and Neruda. Her grandsires are Pperuvian Guellermo, Peruvian Camilio and Michelangelo. Her sire is Michelangelo's Geeves, an outstanding stud owned by Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company.

We named her Silver Nuance because she is true black but has dark silvery grey fiber on her neck and through her apron. We see more grey every time we have our hands on her! Nuance has bright, shiny fiber with lovely crimp including her neck and apron. We even see crinkle in her top knot. She is lively and cute as a bug.  We are selling Nuance bred to the fabulous rose grey Rubio May 2008.  We will agist at no charge until she is confirmed 60 days pregnant.

We bought Nuance's dam, DGA Coco Chanel, because we loved her type, especially her head, and her fine black fleece. The person who graded our fiber when we sheared in 2006 raved about the fineness and uniformity of Coco's fiber and purchased her without hesitation when she learned Coco was for sale. We are hoping that her first daughter will follow in her footsteps.

Premier's Silver Nuance:   $12,500 bred

Premier's Midnight Ember

Midnight EmberD.O.B. 7-25-06   Reg. #30708433    Color: Medium brown with black points.

Premier's Midnight Ember is a cutie out of Snowmass Midnight Magic, a black well known for his fine offspring. Ember's fiber has a beautiful rich red tone to it, hence her name. She has black points. Her dam is Premier's Jolie, mother of Premier's Rubio and full sister to Premier's Absolute. Ember has excellent bloodlines behind her.

Ember has lovely proportions, a nice head and extremely soft fiber. Her crimp is lovely and extends to her neck and apron.  She took second behind Premier's Panache (who went on to take Reserve Champion in that show) with high compliments for the close placing. Ember is extremely easy to handle.

We are offering Ember for sale with a 2008 breeding to a stud of the buyer's choice owned by Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company in Athol, ID. Our friends Bob and Phil have an exemplary breeding program with many nice males, many who have multiple championships. We will board Ember until she is ready to breed in 08, oversee the breeding, and agist her at no charge until she is 60 days pregnant and ready to go her new home.  We are recommending pairing her with silver Navigator, a multiple champion.  He is extremely typey and has stunning fiber.

You can be sure that we would be keeping Ember if we didn't have to reduce our numbers. She is a lovely animal.

Premier's Midnight Ember $16,500 bred

Premier's Panache

PanacheD.O.B. 10-10-06  Reg. #30708440   Color: Medium brown with white apron, belly and markings on face.

Panache means stylish, and is she ever! She has a darling head, nicely proportioned and conformed body and shiny, crimpy fiber. Her mom is Premier's Cognette, champion light brown full sister to Premier's Absolute. Cognette was one of the nicest animals produced from our winning combination of Prestige and Comet, and was snapped up by a discriminating breeder when we offered her for sale. Panache's sire is the handsome, fine fleeced, typey Snowmass Sterling Silver, who is also a champion. Panache followed in her parents' footsteps by taking Reserve Champion Brown Female at the 2007 Northwest Alpaca Showcase. She is cute and has a very sweet personality.

We are selling Panache with a spring 2008 breeding to the buyer's choice of males at Janus Alpaca and Fiber Company in Athol, ID. There are many top quality males at Janus, many of whom are multiple champions. If needed, we will keep her until she is ready to breed, oversee the breeding and agist at no charge until she is 60 days pregnant. A black sire just may bring out those grey genes. Premier's Jolie, who is Panache's aunt, has coloration similar to Panache. When bred to black she gave us Premier's Rubio, noted rose grey herdsire.

Panache would be good in a package with Premier's Maximillian. Max is a 4P Legacy son who is unrelated to Panache. He has improved the conformation of dams he has bred, and also threw a rose grey, Premier's Icon.

Premier's Panache $17,500 bred

Diamondstar Nimue

NimueD.O.B. 6-12-05,    Reg. #30040356    Color: True black with a grey patch

Nimue is a very feminine true black alpaca. She is mild mannered, a trait that came from both her parents. She has a patch of grey on one leg, which shows the strong silver lineage on her pedigree.

Nimue's dam is Peppermint Patty, an elegant female we bought because she threw a fabulous silver out of our rose grey Rubio. Nimue's sire is Grey Ledgend S587 AOA, who is a magnificent stud. You can see a photo and learn about him by going to: http://www.alpaca1.com/shop/product.asp?id=S587

Nimue is confirmed pregnant to the renowned Emerald Farm's Rincon for a July 08 cria. Rincon is a winner of many championships and also has taken several Get of Sire awards. That means he puts his stamp on his babies, so this should be a nice cria.

Nimue is being sold with a complimentary breeding, so she could be put with Rubio in 2008. He has some of the nicest rose grey fiber in the industry. Rubio has thrown black out of black and grey out of grey, so that cria should be one of those sought after colors. Rubio's dam is a full sister to Premier's Absolute and his sire is Snowmass Black Legend, so he has some great genetics to share. Rubio's information may be found on this website under herdsires.

Diamondstar Nimue$18,500 bred plus a breed back

Premier’s Sebastian

sebastianD.O.B. 7-22-99,    Reg. #816588,    Color: Beige with maroon spot on one ankle

Sebastian is fuzzy from his nose to his toes. His typey head with its permanent smile mirrors his sweet disposition. Sebastian is 5/8 Peruvian, son of Ring Ridge Dreamer who now resides on the east coast, and grandson of Accoyo Pluro whose fleece is exemplary. Dreamer has a beautiful head and dense crimpy fleece which he passed on to Sebastian. His mother, Snowmass Peruvian Angelica, has given birth to award winning crias.

Sebastian’s fine fiber has taken many awards and positive comments by judges. Judges Cameron Holt, Mike Safley and Kaye Collins have all given his fiber perfect scores for fineness and handle. Sebastian's fiber exhibits tight crimp and lovely luster and is extremely dense. His age 5 histogram revealed a respectable 23.3 MC, 4.7 SD, 20.3 CV and 92.1% CF. His 2005 fiber awards included 1st in fleece at Alpacapalooza, and 3rd in Alpacapalooza Spin-Off.

Sebastian has excellent conformation with medium bone, and has ribboned in both full fleece and composite halter shows. He is easily handled because of his calm temperament.

Sebastian is recommended in a package with Trinity, above.  The two created two very nice off spring of strong color.  Take advantage of our fall 2007 discounting to add a nice pair to your herd.

Sebastian is a highly fertile, proven breeder who settles his ladies with one try. He has produced a majority of females to date. We liked one of his daughters so well that we purchased her for our foundation herd. Click on the following link to see photos of his offspring: Sebastian's offspring

 Premier's Vidal

VidalD.O.B.7-9-01  Reg. #832639,    Color: Light brown with a grey muzzle

Premier's Vidal is 7/8 Peruvian with dense, fine, crimpy fiber. He has exceptional coverage and an outstanding head. We have had three offers to buy him, but refused for several years to can keep him and his superior genetics and phenotype in our breeding program. His sire is award winning Microsoft, a Camilio son, and his dam is Snowmass Peruvian Angelica. Both Microsoft and Angelica throw offspring whose fleece remains fine at several years of age.

We are offering Vidal for sale at this time because we must downsize the herd because Leslee will be recuperating from total knee replacement surgery for early 2008.

Vidal placed 1st, then took dark color champion at the 2002 NW Alpaca Showcase under Amanda VandenBosch. Mike Safley awarded him 1st of 8 entries in a very competitive dark composite class later that summer. Vidal placed 4th at AWE in a large, competitive full fleece halter class at 25 months of age, then took 1st at the NW Alpaca Showcase composite show with Jane Tellier judging. In 2003 Vidal's fiber took 2nd places at both Alpacapalooza and the AOBA winter national spin-off competitions. He paced 1st in composite halter at the NW Alpaca Showcase and 1st in the Alpacapalooza cut fleece show. 2004 awards include 2nd in Alpacapalooza's full fleece halter show, 1st in Alpacapalooza's fleece show as well as Spinner's Choice over all the entries. In 2005 Vidal placed 1st in a shorn class at the national AOBA competition and 1st at Alpacapalooza's full fleece halter show. Both judges had high compliments on his structure. Vidal has a compact medium frame and heavy bone, with excellent fiber coverage. He is a handsome fellow.

Vidal sports large testicles and exhibits a strong libido. He got an A+ from Dr. Tibary at his 21 month breeding soundness exam and did not disappoint us that first breeding season. He settles females efficiently, and has some very nice crias on the ground that have handsome heads and wonderful crimpy fiber. Vidal has thrown an equal number of males and females so far, and is improving the fiber and conformation of the dams he has bred. Premier's Resolute

ResoluteD.O.B. 7-29-04  Reg. #1242089,    Color: Dark fawn & White

Resolute's mother is the grand dam of our foundation herd. She is full Peruvian Snowmass Don Julio's Prestige, a white that throws fabulous colored offspring. Resolute's sire is silver grey DDF Tobias. Resolute is a striking alpaca who stands out in the pasture. He has sturdy construction, a stunning head with a low, tight topknot and fiber with beautiful character. Resolute is typey, typey, typey.

Resolute competed well during his first show season. He took a 1st place at Alpacapalooza 2004 in full fleece halter where judge Jill MacLeod complimented him on his structure, typiness and fiber uniformity. At the Alpaca Western Extravaganza, Julio Sumar gave Resolute a second place, standing between two Crescent Moon males. Sumar was especially complimentary of his head. At the national show, he placed 5th out of 16. At the NW Alpaca Showcase Amanda VandenBosch gave Resolute second place in a composite class, with 1 point behind the first place male who became the color champion - a near miss! In that composite fleece competition, his fiber received 18 out of 20 points for fineness and handle, and 8.5 points out of 10 for crimp and character. At the 2007 NW Alpaca Showcase Resolute took a second in full fleece halter, again with high compliments on his typiness and uniformity in his fiber.

Resolute has excellent conformation and fiber with amazing uniformity and density. His crimp goes way down under his belly, past his knees and to his chin. His fiber coverage is excellent from his face to the ground. He has heavy bone and good depth of jaw.

Resolute has settled several females. The color geneticists say that breeding a white faced alpaca who has grey lineage to a solid black has a high chance of creating a rose grey.

Premier's Maxmillian

MaxmillianD.O.B. 7-29-00   Reg. # 823126,    Color: Medium brown with vicuna white underbelly

Maximillian is a son of famous Accoyo 4Peruvian Legacy. He is half Peruvian. At the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival 2001, Mike Safley placed Max’s fleece 1st and conformation 1st in a composite class where Safley described Max’s proportions and bite as perfect. Max has also placed 2nd at the AlpacaFest and Alpaca Affaire composite halter shows, 3rd at the full fleece CABA show judged by Julio Sumar and 3rd at NW Alpaca Showcase judged by Amanda VandenBosch. Max's last show, Alpacapalooza 2003, garnered him another blue ribbon under Amanda VandenBosch's scrutiny with compliments on his excellent structure and silky fiber.

Maximillian has a beautiful medium amplitude crimp, medium red- brown fleece that is lustrous and has a soft, silky hand. His fiber took 2nd in a large fleece class at Alpacapalooza 2002, and 2nd in a class of seven at the NW Alpaca Showcase where it received near perfect scores in the categories of handle, uniformity of length and brightness. In 2003, Max earned 3rd in halter under judge Julio Sumar at the Alpaca Western Extravaganza, 3rd in halter at the NW Alpaca Showcase judged by Amanda VandenBosch, 2nd in cut fleece at Alpaca Western Extravaganza judged by Cameron Holt, and 2nd in fleece at NW Alpaca Showcase judged by Julie Skinner. At the 2003 AROW show Max took 1st in conformation and second overall in their composite halter show judged by Mike Safley. His 2004 awards include second place in the fleece show at Alpacapalooza with 14/15 points for fineness, 5/5 for handle, 7/8 for uniformity of micron, 6/7 for staple length, 9/0 for lack of medulation, and 8/10 for brightness. His 2004 entry in the NW Alpaca Showcase took second place as did his Alpacapalooza Spin-Off entry where it earned 82/85 points.

Max's medium boned structure is flawless, and he is passing those traits along to his offspring. He has regal stature that commands attention in the pasture.

Max has a strong libido. His first cria are very nice. We bred him to Premier's Jolie, our blue ribbon Comet daughter and got a male that exemplifies our breeding program, so named him Premier's Icon. He has Max's conformation and silky handle fiber plus high frequency crimp from his dam. Icon is definitely a keeper. Click on the following link to see photos of his offspring: Max's offspring.

Premier's Tribute to Comet

TributeD.O.B.8-12-06  Reg. #30708464,    Color: Medium brown with black points and silver tipped ears.

Cloud 9 Comet was our noted rose grey herdsire that, along with Snowmass Don Julio's Prestige, created many top quality offspring, including rose grey Premier's Absolute. Comet died of complications from surgery to remove an intestinal blockage, so this son was the end of Comet's line. We couldn't think of a better name than Tribute to Comet. Tribute is dark brown with a black nose, and black ears that have has silver tips! Now we know for sure he has picked up Comet's grey genetics.

Tribute has excellent, sturdy conformation. His bite is perfect and his legs are straight. He has a very handsome head and top knot and solid dark eyes.

His fiber is very soft and had a 6" staple length on his first 10 months of growth. He has excellent coverage to his toes.  His first histogram revealed MC 20.7; SD 5.0; CV 24.1; Comfort factor 95.1; Curve 32.1.  His first shearing weights were:  blanket 4.0#; neck 2.2#; remainder 0.4#.

Tribute took a blue ribbon in his first show spring of 2007.  He was praised for the long staple length and the soft buttery handle of his fiber as well as for his correct conformation.

We are selling Tribute with a reproductive guarantee. He has shown interest in the girls since he was a babe.

Tribute would be great in a package with Trinity, Peppermint Patty, Nimue, Satin Sophisticate or Sassoon de Vidal from our sales line-up because he is not related.

 MaRS Hilo

HiloD.O.B.6-10-05 Reg. #30708464,    Color: Medium brown

Hilo is a handsome fellow who has fabulous bloodlines on both sides of his pedigree. He carries genetics from Bolivian Black thunder, Peruvian (Accoyo) Felix, Peruvian Demetrio and the legendary Hemingway.

Hilo was carefully created by Rebecca Suryan who combined her excellent macho David Shines with a high quality Bolivian female. She repeated this breeding because she was so pleased with the first offspring, MaRS Hutton. She tells us Hutton and Hilo were like clones, so we are hoping that Hilo throws rose grey has Hutton has done.

Hilo has a perfect bite and very straight conformation. His crimpy, shiny fiber is a beautiful solid medium brown.  His first histogram was:  AFD 18.9; SD 4.0; CV 21.2; %>30-1.4.

Hilo passed his breeding soundness exam at 2 years of age with an A+ given by Dr. Ahmed Tibary, camelid reproduction specialist at Washington State University. Unfortunately, we have not had the occasion to use him as yet, and because we are downsizing our herd significantly to accommodate Leslee's knee replacement surgery, we must find a new home for him. He is specially priced until January 27, 2008.

MaRS Hilo $6,500
